Hart Allen Lake Accident — The Pace Academy community is mourning the tragic loss of 13-year-old Hart Allen, a rising eighth-grade student who died in a lake accident on June 21, 2025.
Hart joined Pace Academy in 2017, following the path of his three older siblings. In his time at the school, he became a beloved member of the community—known for his quick wit, generous heart, and warm, spirited presence. He was a loyal friend, a natural leader, and a student who truly valued his classmates.
A dedicated athlete, Hart played both water polo and lacrosse for Pace and was a proud member of the Thunder Lacrosse club team. He was also a committed Boy Scout, recently earning the Life Rank and being inducted into the Order of the Arrow, a distinguished honor recognizing leadership and service.
Hart was the kind of young man who left a lasting impact on everyone around him. Teachers, coaches, and friends remember him as kind, hardworking, and full of life. Whether on the field, in the classroom, or among friends, he brought energy, humor, and heart to everything he did.
A memorial service to celebrate Hart’s life will be held on Thursday, July 3, at 10 a.m. at The Cathedral of St. Philip, 2744 Peachtree Rd NW, Atlanta. In his honor, students and guests are encouraged to wear team jerseys, Scout uniforms, or Pace gear—symbols of the communities Hart cherished most.
In lieu of flowers, the Allen family invites those who wish to honor Hart’s memory to consider making a donation to one of several organizations meaningful to Hart and his loved ones. Further details will be shared by the family.
Hart Allen’s bright spirit, compassion, and unwavering joy will never be forgotten. He leaves behind a legacy of friendship, service, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
